about

You wake, buried under the earth. Darkness is all you see and you’re surrounded by a thick mud-like material. You're floating. You reach out for something precious, unable to grasp it, even it's memory begins to fade. The past, present, and future are indistinguishable. You perpetually reach for light.

This album began with a single image and sprouted from there. There is a patch of land that one can see into, as a child looks into an ant farm. Buried under the earth is a human body, roots grow out of it in all directions. The trunk of a tree sprouts upward from the heart. From above ground all one can see is an ancient elm with large stark branches reaching skyward. Worn by rain and wind, scars riddle it's trunk and branches, yet it stands defiant and noble.
